Born in Canada and currently based in Portugal.
Working across academia, research, and creative direction, I bring together artistic vision and strategic leadership to help teams shape meaningful experiences and cohesive visual direction.
Drawing from experience in art direction, concept art, video game art, illustration, comics, UI design, game design, and industrial design, I connect hands-on production with creative leadership to develop projects and guide clear and unified creative visions.
I have been working in the video game industry since 2006, collaborating with multiple studios in Portugal and abroad, with a strong focus on creative direction, concept art, and 2D art. Throughout my career, I have led and directed art teams across various stages of game development, contributing to both visual identity and creative strategy.
Beyond studio projects, my work has consistently included mentoring artists, advising creative teams, and curating art exhibitions. In parallel, I have maintained an active illustration practice since 2002, including selected projects in comic art, which I began exploring in 2003.
Since 2015, I have been teaching in higher education, specializing in creative and art direction, concept art, game art, and storytelling for games. I have collaborated with several academic institutions and am currently a faculty member at IPLeiria.
My creative process is grounded in research, world-building, and strong narrative design, always tailored to the specific needs and goals of each project.
Currently, my research focuses on visual concept creation for video games and their transformative role in society.
